SIGN Public Partner Recruitment

Do you have an interest in improving the quality of healthcare through national evidence-based guidelines?

Can you dedicate some of your valuable free time to help us with this work?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then we have an exciting volunteering opportunity for you with the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN).

SIGN Council role

We are looking for people with sound judgement who can participate in decisions about SIGN’s methodology and work programme. SIGN public partners are non-clinical members of SIGN Council (the policy-making body for SIGN) and are required to attend six meetings of SIGN Council per year and at least two Public Involvement Advisory Group meetings per year.

Key skills required for the role

  • Excellent communicator
  • Have self confidence in a mixed group of professionals
  • Ability to listen to, read and assimilate information and weigh evidence
  • Ability to look at a situation from a variety of perspectives, not purely from own experience.

You must live in Scotland to be a Public Partner. Please note that currently all meetings are held virtually, however, we are hoping to hold some hybrid meetings in the near future.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates, and particularly from candidates from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups as they are under-represented within our work.

While the role of Public Partner is voluntary, expenses will be paid and training will be provided.
